SMAC Personality NV Memory
A NV memory should be connected to the SMAC. The NV memory is used for two purposes: storing initial SMAC configuration information, and storing personality information about the node.
The stored SMAC configuration typically consists of default routing tables for the network router, processing element power state, and other information that is needed when system power is initially applied.
The personality information is a network-accessible region of the NV memory that has key identifying information about the node. Parameters such as unique node identification number, installed modules, and processing capabilities may be stored here and queried by the system controller if necessary.
