Operating Temperatures
Operational temperatures are provided in thermal study for the nominal orbit. Excursions from predicted operational temperatures shall be increased by 11C (bilateral) when these temperatures are utilized in all fatigue analysis.
For the purposes of fatigue the temperature excursion within an orbital season may be considered. For the purposes of fatigue assume the following season durations:
Nominal is 50% of Life
Cold Beginning of Life is 25% of Life
Hot End of life is 25% of Life
Vendors analyzing part may request temperature distributions and heat-loading information to support their analysis.
 | Nominal orbit | Hot orbit | Cold orbit |
JAS Box | -18 to + 40 C | -7 to +45 C | -20 to +26 C |
